| PADI DIVEMASTER
As the first level on the PADI professional ladder, your
Divemaster qualification will provide you with the skills
to organize and conduct diving activities from both boats
and the shore. You will learn how to give thorough briefings
and will be leading qualified divers around reefs, wrecks
and occasionally the open sea. During this first step
you will develop your academic knowledge to Instructor level,
gain invaluable experience in the water as your technique
becomes honed to a high professional standard and learn
how to demonstrate Open Water skills in a clear, easy to
learn manner. Whenever possible you will work with real
students thus further developing your 'man management' skills.
You will also be qualified to teach the PADI/DSAT Emergency
First Response (CPR/First Aid) program on successful completion
of your own EFR Instructor course.
OBJECTIVE:
The Divemaster Course allows you to attain your first PADI
professional level, which qualifies you to lead dives, assist
on courses and subsequently prepares you for becoming
a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.
DURATION:
The course can be completed in as little as seven days;
however, one gets a far greater benefit by taking the course
over a two to three week period. The longer your Dive Master
course, the better for you, the DMT (Dive Master Trainee),
in terms of hands on experience and personal confidence
building.
PREREQUISITES:
- PADI Advanced & Rescue Diver or equivalent from
any other training agency
- Be 18 years of age at the start date of the course
- Proof of 20 logged dives (60 logged dives are required
as an exit requirement)
- Have logged experience in Deep, Night and Navigation
diving
- Proof of CPR/First Aid training within the last 24 months
- Medical Statement "Fit for diving", not older
than 12 months

PADI/DSAT EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONSE INSTRUCTOR
All the PADI professional level courses mentioned below
will enable you to reach the prerequisite for taking part
in the PADI/DSAT Emergency First Response Instructor Program.
This is an invaluable tool for retaining student divers,
offering the full range of PADI courses & programs.
You are so much more employable as an EFRI and given the
right attitude, it will enhance not only your career, but
will SAVE LIVES too!
This program is non-diving related, therefore it is available
to everyone, parents, club leaders, sports instructors,
teachers etc. Almost anyone can do the EFRI and help
save lives!
OBJECTIVE:
Being qualified as an EFRI means you can market not only
to divers but also to the public in general. How many people
would walk away from an accident? Possibly quite a few,
but with EFRI training those few will become fewer. The
personal rewards are outstanding, you will be taught Cardio
Pulmonary Resuscitation (big words for mouth to mouth/nose
resuscitation), better known as CPR. You will be trained
in the use of oxygen in general situations, not just in
a diving environment and you will also learn how to use
an Automated External Defibrillator as well as the usual
First Aid requirements for burns, breaks and shock etc.
Please check our special package
deals.
DURATION:
The actual EFRI course is split into two phases, CPR &
Primary Care, First Aid and Secondary Care. And now the
paediatric phase for children. Both phases must be completed
in full before application to PADI/DSAT for your Instructor
status. This (the EFRI) is a one day program.
PREREQUISITES:
Any PADI member of Professional Status can qualify for this
Emergency First Response Instructor Course, including Divemasters
and Assistant Instructors.

PADI ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR
(first phase of the IDC)
As a PADI Assistant Instructor you will learn how to develop
your own teaching skills both in the classroom presenting
academics and in the water exhibiting skills. You will
become qualified to teach certain portions of the PADI Open
Water Diver Courses in the classroom and in the water
under the supervision of a fully qualified Instructor. You
will also be certified to independently teach some of the
PADI courses and programs such as Peak Performance Buoyancy
and Project AWARE. As with all PADI professional levels
it is possible to then become a PADI/DSAT Emergency First
Response Instructor. You can teach this CPR/First Aid program
upon successful completion of your own EFR
Instructor course. Equally important, the Assistant
Instructor course is a prerequisite for going forward to
complete the Open Water Scuba Instructor
phase of the IDC which makes you a fully qualified PADI
Instructor. Please check our special IDC
package deals.
OBJECTIVES:
Firstly, it will allow you to independently teach a number
of PADI courses and programs making you far more employable
within the diving industry. Secondly, it will teach you
how to instruct in the PADI way, develop your interpersonal
skills and prepare you for the reality of a career in
diving. Once you are an AI, you only have to complete the
OWSI phase of the IDC to become a fully
qualified Open Water Scuba Instructor.
DURATION:
According to PADI standards three days is enough. However,
we like to take at least four days thereby making it a far
more relaxed & enjoyable learning experience. The AI
phase can be taken separately or in combination with the
OWSI course, making it the full IDC.
PREREQUISITES:
- Be certified as a PADI Divemaster or equivalent.
- Offer proof of 60 logged dives
- Submit proof of CPR/First Aid training within the past
24 months (EFR is great for this)
- Submit a medical statement verifying that the candidate
is fit for diving dated within the last 12 months.

PADI OPEN WATER SCUBA INSTRUCTOR
(second phase of the IDC)
As a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor you will be qualified
to teach all PADI courses from Open Water through to Divemaster
independently; as well as a few Specialty Courses. Once
a PADI Instructor, you will be in great demand as suddenly
the world will open its doors to you, offering a rewarding
future of travel, adventure and great diving experiences.
Nothing compares to the incredible feeling of achievement
one gets after having turned a hesitant snorkeller into
a fully capable and confident PADI Open Water Diver. The
personal rewards of a diving career with PADI are outstanding.
OBJECTIVES:
The essential idea and objective of successfully completing
your IDC is NOT simply to get you through the IE. It is,
far more importantly, to hone your existing diving skills
and mould you into a caring, approachable and professional
PADI Instructor who is able to market not only yourself,
but also the PADI school of thought. Passing your IE is
an obvious stepping stone but life after becoming a PADI
OWSI is the main concern. In other words, your professionalism
is our first priority.
DURATION:
Taken as a separate course, the OWSI phase is four days.
However, it is usually taken in conjunction with the PADI
Assistant Instructor phase, making for the full
Instructor Development Course.(Please check our special
IDC package deals.)
PREREQUISITES:
- Be certified as a PADI Assistant Instructor or equivalent.
- Offer proof of 60 logged dives (100 logged dives are
required for entry to the IE)
- Submit proof of CPR/First Aid training within the past
24 months (EFR is great for this)
- Submit a medical statement verifying that the candidate
is fit for diving dated within the last 12 months
- Be 18 years of age at the start date of the course.
*Candidates qualified at Instructor level with another
diving organization would only have to complete this phase
of the IDC (formerly the IOC).

PADI INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT COURSE
(IDC)
This is the entire program and incorporates the PADI
Assistant Instructor and the Open
Water Scuba Instructor phases. The combined course qualifies
you to independently conduct all PADI courses from Open
Water through to Divemaster, including some Specialty Courses.
Naturally, as mentioned above, it totally enhances your
professionalism, employment potential and earning power.
After the successful completion of your IDC you are entitled
to sit the Instructor Examination, conducted by PADI IE
Examiners, within 12 months of passing the IDC. However,
generally speaking, most IDC candidates decide to take the
IE immediately after their IDC.
Please check our special IDC package
deals.
OBJECTIVES:
The whole idea of an IDC program is to prepare you for a
career in diving. Passing the IE is part of that preparation
but turning you into a responsible diving professional is
the primary focus. The IDC run by SUB SINAI is totally geared
towards the needs and development of potential Instructors.
Therefore our IDC is not strictly time-based. The candidate's
thoughts, concerns and progress are our main priority
and we strive to give our IDC students the encouragement
and confidence that will take them forward.
You will be asked to conduct a minimum of four academic
presentations, four Confined Water presentations and four
Open Water presentations. There are maximum scores to be
rewarded. Preparation time is of no consequence as we aim
to see our candidates score highly; to that end we run workshops
and study groups before and during the actual course.
By the end of our IDC you will be fully equipped to sit
the IE with total confidence, knowing that your preparation
has been unsurpassable.
Upon the successful completion of the IE you will not only
be academically qualified, but also absolutely assured of
your own abilities to reach for and accomplish exceptional
achievements.
DURATION:
PADI standards allow for a seven day course. However, our
IDCs are conducted over a minimum of nine days. This
makes for a stress-free program and allows for a better
learning experience; it also enables us to conduct a more
in-depth, 'hands on' course. Generally speaking the first
four days are concentrated on the PADI Assistant Instructor
phase with a free day on day five; some candidates prefer
to do some remedial work on this day which is fine and we can work it through together. On days six through to
nine it is the Open Water Scuba Instructor phase, which
although hard work, can also be good fun.
**Candidates qualified at Instructor level with another
diving organization would only have to complete the OWSI
phase of the IDC (formerly IOC), however, it is much better
to complete the IDC in its entirety.

PADI SPECIALTY INSTRUCTOR PROGRAMS
Becoming a PADI Specialty Instructor increases your professional
expertise, your employability and gives you further potential
to earn more money. It provides you with extra skills that
standard OWSIs do not have and affords you the opportunity
to experience more varied diving conditions. This allows
you further enjoyment and thus helps you to avoid 'burnout'.
Taking a PADI Specialty Instructor Course with SUB SINAI
and our PADI Course Director does a couple of very important
things for you: it allows you to teach that specialty immediately
upon receiving approval from PADI, instead of having to
wait until you've certified 25 students (as per any other
method of application to PADI). Another great benefit is
that you get 'hands on' training from our Course Directors
who have a huge wealth of expertise and practical experience,
not just in Diving and Instructing, but also in the business
of marketing. We can pass on tips and ideas that will
prove extremely useful when you have to market yourselves
and your specialty.
Finally, you only have to complete ten dives in your chosen
Specialty/ies, ie Deep Diving, as opposed to twenty (as per
any other application method). When you have achieved five
Specialty Instructor qualifications you can then apply to
PADI for your Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating, another
highly sought after PADI Instructor credential.
Please check our special package
deals.
OBJECTIVES:
On completion of this course you will be able to teach your
chosen PADI Specialty independently. We aim to educate you
in a way that makes you better able to instruct students
in the Specialty of their choice. After this, not only will
your own diving experience have increased but you will be
a much better teacher too!
DURATION:
This varies depending on the particular course. Generally
it is one day per Specialty. All PADI Specialties include
academic training, presentations from our Course Directors,
plus in water work. Some Specialties require one dive for
qualification, whilst others require two.
PREREQUISITES:
- Be certified as a PADI OWSI, or in some cases, a PADI
Assistant Instructor.

PADI MASTER SCUBA DIVER TRAINER
Open Water Courses are magical fun but repetition can make
one stagnate. The way to avoid stagnation is to become a
PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer. The benefits are numerous
and varied. Being an MSDT gives you the ability to teach
any five PADI Specialties on top of the standard PADI courses
and if you use your qualifications correctly and professionally,
further increases your employment and earning powers.
It helps to reduce the chances of 'burnout' as your working
sphere is more varied.
Please check our special package
deals.
OBJECTIVES:
The PADI MSDT program enables you to teach a minimum of
five PADI Specialty Courses immediately upon approval from
PADI. After certifying 25 divers to any level, it is simply
a matter of applying to PADI for your MSDT qualifications.
In the right environment and conditions, this can be successfully
completed within a month or so of the IDC/IE.
DURATION:
Depending on the Specialties concerned, four to five days
is probably average for a minimum of five PADI Specialties.
PREREQUISITES:
- Being a PADI OWSI in teaching status.

PADI IDC STAFF INSTRUCTOR
This is where you really start to take off in your chosen
career. As a PADI IDC Staff Instructor you are an invaluable
asset to a PADI Course Director during the Instructor Development
Course. You will become known as a highly experienced individual
with many professional skills and attributes that can
only be beneficial to you, your employer and very importantly,
to your Scuba students and IDC candidates.
OBJECTIVES:
This course will qualify you to assist with PADI IDCs as
a Staff Instructor and enable you to conduct PADI Assistant
Instructor Courses in your own right without the need for
a PADI Course Director.
DURATION:
There are now two options to take the IDC Staff Instructor
Course; the first (in our opinion the best route) is the
'old' method - whereby you audit a full IDC under the supervision
of an experienced PADI Course Director and any Senior Staff.
With us, there is a three day build up to the beginning
of the IDC proper so generally speaking this option is a
twelve day affair giving you the benefit of 'hands on' experience
gained by working with real IDC candidates.
The second option is to complete the three day phase of
the course and then present all seven component presentations
for the PADI Assistant Instructor Course as this will be
what you can now teach independently. This method takes
approximately four to five days in total.
PREREQUISITES:
- Be a certified as a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer
- Present a 'fit for diving' medical statement issued
within the previous twelve months
- Be 18 yrs of age at the start of the course
